Based on the Astronomical data report, the Sun sets at 6:56 Pm UTC+4 @ (294° 40’ W), and 7:29 pm @ (297°  4′ W) for the Moon which makes out only around 33 minutes before each set below the Horizon. It is therefore possible to sight the Crescent on this day in Oman by using opticals aids. Subject to atmospheric conditions.

  1. It was reported as seen by others, but no further details. Sighting attempted by me using 10×50 binoculars but with negative results. Sighting location, Muscat South Muwaleh area. Atmospheric conditions scattered clouds with haze at the sunset horizon.
