Very interesting facts from Astronomers & Scientists.. I still could not get it about fact number 18 ? Half of the stars are visible at daylight with naked eye from Earth? Could anyone explain!

  1. These are very interesting facts! My favorite planet is Uranus:

    http://bofadeez.blogspot.com/2011/01/whose-anus.html

  2. Learned a few things here! Took my time leaving a comment as I’ve been trying to figure out about the stars visible in daylight to the naked eye bit 😉 Why do I get the feeling you know the answer already?! I thought I did know…but now I’m not at all sure my thinking makes sense…even to me!! I looked into it and still haven’t got any satisfactory answers…so! It is time to put Icewolf out her misery and tell me why!!!

    Daylight starry skies 🙂

    • Hi Europa 🙂
I’m glad that you’ve learned…anyway for that part (daylight) is a tricky, mysterious and easy one at the same time 🙂

What is really mysterious? Is the feeling ..about me knowing the answer!! 🙂

Ok lets get it solved! >>> The fact says >>>

“8000 stars are visible with naked eye from Earth. 4000 in each hemisphere, 2000 at daylight and 2000 at night.”

      In a Clear way>>>

“8000 stars are visible with naked eye from Earth(Full Stop) 4000 in each hemisphere(Comma) 2000 at daylight (and) 2000 at night(Full Stop)”

Well, Astronomers say: “estimated number of stars visible to the naked eye from earth is about 8000, 4000 which are visible from the Northern Hemisphere and another 4000 from the Southern Hemisphere. At any one time in either hemisphere, ONLY 2000 stars are visible. The other 2000 are located in the daytime sky and are obscured by the much brighter light of the Sun”

So this supposed to mean that if the Sun didn’t involve blocking other stars light, the 2000 stars would be visible to the naked eye during daytime.

In Theory it is correct, but in Practical with Sun light it is not possible..I didn’t say Impossible… I hope this is very clear now 🙂

Mystery solved 🙂 , except the one about the feeling 🙂

      Clear mystery solved skies,

  3. Confused. Can someone explain this:
41-The light emitting from the Sun is actually 30.000 years old.

Does this imply that 30,000 years ago the sun wasn’t emitting light? Coz thats not the case. And of course the sunlight reaches us in around 8 minutes. So whats with the 30,000 figure?

    • Dear Edd,

Thanks for your question..Indeed it’s confused fact..
      Anyway,
The energy in the sunlight which we get today started out in the core of the Sun 30,000 years ago. It spent most of this time passing through the dense atoms in the sun and just 8 minutes to reach us once it had left the Sun.

The light hitting the earth right now is 30 thousand years old as it started out in the core of the Sun 30,000 years ago. It passed through the dense atoms that make the sun and just 8 minutes to reach us once it had left the Sun.

      Clears Skies,

  4. So if anything visible happened to the sun’s core, it would have occured 30,000 years + 8 minutes ago?

    • Dear Edd,

The 30000 years is for nuclear fusion which has modified the composition by converting hydrogen into helium in the core of the Sun and moving the energy (heat, light, etc) to the surface of the Sun.

The light and heat are born during the conversion moment..

The 8 minute refers to the speed of light only transferred from the Sun Surface to Earth Atmosphere..

      Clear Skies

  5. At fact 16 there stands that all the planets (it’s unknown if they are talking about the whole universe of just our galaxy) are 4.544 billion years old. But at fact 28, the ‘Genesis Planet’ is 12.7 billion year old.. Seems to me that this is going against each other, isn’t it?

  6. Gurmeet Singh

    very interesting facts

    i liked it! 🙂

  7. looking to sky we look in the past.

  8. satish chandra gupta

i have a question what was there when there was nothing?

    • Nothing at all.. even electron / a particle as mentioned in the holy Qur’an. Allah was the only one.
This will happen again on the dooms day.. Nothing will be alive, Nothing at all will exists except Allah (God)

  9. satish chandra gupta

during big bang matter expanded faster than light.but nothing can move faster than light.what mystry is there behind it?

    • This is a mythology describing how fast was the big bang..
Actually there are things which are faster than light as mentioned in the Qur’an, but we don’t know yet & cannot prove it yet..

  10. satish chandra gupta

how can we see to future by looking sky?please, explain.

  11. satish chandra gupta

will you believe yesterday i went future.do you know how?

  12. Above you said the light from the sun is 30,000 years old. I thought It only takes 8 minutes for the light from the sun to get to Earth? Or are you counting the possible time the light is bouncing around inside the sun?

    • You are right Brandon..as you said “the possible time the light is bouncing around inside the Sun” .. You question is the same as {Edd} asked above.. Please refer to my replies to him above for more clarity. 🙂

  13. I love all thae facts, Cept the first one shoulda been clarified that about 77.2% of Saturn would be underwater. Still technically floating though. Yeah.

  14. AWESOME STUFF! My teacher loves it. I got an A+. I like the video too. Can u just tell me what music is it, so I can download it. It would be really helpful. THANKS A LOT!

  15. Thanks a lot really helped

  16. my teacher wants to know if u had any other sites for space and astronomy, do u ? I need an answer in 12 hours THANKS

  17. This is great brother Mundhir, blew my mind.
Astronomy makes you realise how vast Allah’s
Power is and like much of science, astronomy
still remains so unknown to man – the more
we learn, the more we realise how little we
know! Fascinating, science and nature is
    beautiful. Allah is Great!

  18. dominios en venezuela

I’m amazed, I must say. Rarely do I encounter a blog
that’s both equally educative and engaging, and without a doubt,
you have hit the nail on the head. The problem is something
which not enough people are speaking intelligently about.
I am very happy I came across this in my search for something regarding this.

  19. Mars is not covered in iron oxide, it is not red! some of the other facts here are very dubious!

  20. No, 47? Free liquid falling on Earth automatically forms a perfect globe, that is why we have “lead- shot towers! Molten lead was poured from the top to fall into a pool of water, by the time the droplets of lead hit the water they were sufficiently hard so as not to deform when they hit the water!

  21. it was a very intresting facts i have enough facts for my work

  22. I’m doing a report this helps

  26. “Space is not a complete vacuum, there are about 3 atoms per cubic meter of space.”
As a matter of fact, my understanding is that we can’t create a perfect vacuum even in the lab. I propose that the ‘space’ outside our universe IS a perfect vacuum and our universe is expanding as a result. This is the long-sought-after ‘dark energy’. Dark energy is not positive and inside our universe, but is negative and outside.
